Warren Early College has teamed up with FoodCorps to place an amazing fifth year student as our intern, Ms. Morgan Richardson. As Warren County FoodCorps intern, Morgan will help lead Garden Club meetings at Warren County High School every week and Culinary Club meetings at Mariam Boyd Elementary School every other week until June. We are excited to have her expertise, and the younger kids enjoy having another veggie lover role model! Please read on for Morgan's bio, below!
Hello my name is Morgan Richardson I'm 19 and I am a Super Senior at Warren Early College High School. After graduation I plan to become a Social Worker or a Pastry Chef; I'm still undecided. I want to attend Winston Salem State University or the Art Institute. Over the past five years I volunteered 60 hours of my time to the community, in order to thank them for giving me the opportunity to attend Early College. I have volunteered at many places, but my favorite was my Sophomore year when I volunteered at Mariam Boyd Elementary School. Mariam Boyd was giving high school girls the chance to give back by becoming part of their Girl Scout team. I took the chance, because I was once a Girl Scout and I knew how much fun it was. I became a Girl Scout Leader and taught the Daisy things they needed to know to in order to get their badges. I taught them how important it is for them to be nice to others, how to grow plants, and how important it is to eat their vegetables. It was a lot of fun teaching them new and exciting actives. Watching them learn and grow into amazing young scouts.
